Sheltie Haven Special Ones
A Resource for Shelties and the People Who Love Them

Special Ones with Special Needs
In any rescue program, there will always be certain dogs who need special homes. These are the unwanted ones, the ones who have imperfect temperaments, the ones with health problems, the old ones. And in a pure-breed rescue program, the mixes are a challenge to place. On this page, we spotlight our special ones. If you would be interested in providing a wonderful home for one of these Shelties, please call (214) 327-1102

Some of us are less alert,

Some of us are less energetic,

Some of us are less healthy,

But all of us love just as much.

This is Lacy

Update!

Lacy has found a home. Thanks Rhonda Brown for loving our special girl!

Updated 081304

Her mom and dad went to assisted living, and the kids called animal control to take the dog.  A wonderful rescue person in the Oklahoma City area found her and rescued her.  We were glad to take her in.  Lacy is blind.  Cataracts are part of the problem, but there is more, and it could be congenital.  She has been very adaptable though, and stays very close to her foster mom.  She even has learned to take the steps to and from the apartment.  Lacy is good with kids and with other animals, and is probably around 11-12 years old.  She appears to be in good health and just needs someone to take her in and give her a permanent home for the rest of her life.

If you would like to provide that home, please call us at 214-327-1102.
